We let the light in with this open concept kitchen addition.

With an interior wall separating the kitchen, living and dining rooms, this was a house divided. The home-owners desperately needed unity, and a recessed exterior wall was perfect for expansion.

To unite these separate spaces, we filled in the exterior recessing and knocked down the interior walls, creating a central living space. We also added a laundry area where the hall used to be, ensuring that we didn’t waste an inch of space.

To seamlessly blend the new kitchen with the old recessing, we added skylights to brighten the space, along with uniform interior openings to the living room
