Whole House Remodel Rescue
Our Client's original contractor unfortunately passed away. We decided to step in and run the project to completion.
Our client asked for help with her whole house remodel. Her original contractor had recently passed away and had only completed some of the demolition. She asked us to take over the project and run it to completion. While Eagle Peak does not usually take over another contractor’s project, these were unusual circumstances. Once we took over the project it required modifications of the approved plans to work with the site conditions, especially to be able to install the transom windows, that had already been purchased, in the back exterior wall. Once these changes were approved, we were able to proceed with the work.

Remodeled Entry Extension
We “de-ranch”ed this 1958 ranch style house by removing the bird nest detail from the gables and extended the front entry forward with a more contemporary look.
Remodeled Great Room Brings Light and Openness
Bringing in more light started with the removal of the exterior wall and roof structure of the great room. We raised the exterior wall and ceiling height. We installed transom windows to take in the gorgeous views. Even though the footprint stayed the same the results are voluminous. Light, bright, and open.

Adding Transom Windows to the Exterior Wall
Eagle Peak Builders believes in collaborative construction. We worked with the Architect to revise the approved plans to allow the purchased transom windows to be installed in the exterior wall. We updated the exterior wall to be 2x6 instead of the planned 2x4 framing to allow the wall to be taller. We were then able to re-frame the wall and install the transom windows.

Higher Ceilings and Beautiful Views
The plans called for keeping the HVAC closet in the entry. The issue was that it blocked the beautiful view of the hillsides from the entry door. We worked with the Architect and the Client to relocate the HVAC closet to the hallway which opened up the entry to the view. We also raised the great room ceiling.

Expanded Interior Entry Door
We extended the entry forward and relocated the HVAC closet. This allowed for a larger entry and an entry closet next to the entry door. It is now lighter and brighter.
Remodeled Master Shower
The plans called for a small addition to accommodate an enlarged master shower. The client did not want it to affect her existing deck and trellis. So, we carefully worked within this confined space to achieve the desired result.
Removing Faux Beams
We removed the faux beams in the family room, added insulation, and installed recessed LED lights. Gone also was the old track lighting. We wrapped the structural ridge beam and painted everything white. The space feels larger and brighter.

Fireplace Facelift
We covered the old brick fireplace with wave tile and solid surface hearth and also installed a wood burning insert.
Kitchenette Refresh
Our client wanted to refresh the kitchenette in the family room. We added cabinets to form a peninsula, installed new counters and backsplash tile, replaced the floor tile, and painted the existing cabinets. It now has a fresh look and is even better for entertaining.

Low Maintenance Front Yard Landscaping
We renovated the front yard. We replaced the driveway and walkways, added decorative retaining walls and artificial turf. We removed the large lawn and replaced it with drought tolerant plants. The remodeled home is now more inviting and lower maintenance.
